Resurfacing

Complete this step first, then proceeed to polishing.


Step 1: Resurface Scratch Removal Discs (SRDs)- General Scratch Removal Resurfacing Procedure:
  1. Thoroughly strip the floor to remove surface coating, if present.
  2. Hone the surface with Apeiron's Scratch Removal Discs and water.
      Honing process times:
      Terazzo & Marble: 30 sec. per sq. ft.
      Granite: 1 min. per sq. ft.
  3. Wet vacuum the slurry and rinse with Apeiron's Stone Wash.

Scratch Removal Disc (SRD)

In one easy step, this unique disc removes scratches from foot traffic and completely prepares your marble, granite, terrazzo and concrete surfaces for polishing. this step replaces diamond grits 400-1600. SRD's cut like a 400 grit, but leave the surface as smooth as a 1600 grit would, thus preparing the surface for polishing.

Foam Disc Holder

Used as the means to hold the SRD's under conventional pad drives.

STEP 1

Scratch Removal Discs (SRD's) remove scratches in heavy traffic areas. They should be used when needed to repair scratches from foot traffic.

STEP 2

Wet or Dry polish restores gloss to heavy traffic areas when Marble Shake no longer gives the desired gloss. It can be used annually or as needed.
  • 1 oz powder to 4 oz. water for 20 sq ft.
  • Buff for 30 seconds per sq ft or 10 minutes with a white or light hair pad.
  • Use a wet vac and damp mop for rinsing.

Wet Polish: a traditional technique that uses a unique abrasive to achieve a unique result.

  • Apply 1 oz of powder to the floor
  • Add 4 oz of water, this will cover 16-20 sq. ft.
  • Buff with a standard white polishing pad for 30 seconds per sq ft.
  • Keep mixture wet, do not allow to dry back
  • Wet vac and rinse with Stone Wash
  • No steel wool needed
  • No strong odors
  • Not Hazardous
  • Virtually goof proof as compared to traditional Oxalic Acids
  • No polymer build up
  • No discoloring
  • Low end use cost per sq ft.

Dry Polish - uses a unique abrasive to achieve a unique result.

  • Mix 1 oz of powder and 5 oz of water in a cup
  • Put 1 oz of mixture on the floor
  • Buff to dry (do not add water) - repeat for higher gloss
  • Same benefits as Wet - PLUS
  • No wet vac, no noise
  • Low customer impact
  • Less labor
  • Less mess
  • Professionals prefer this product as a long-term strategy to save time

Marble Shake

Marble Shake maintains gloss in heavy traffic areas. It is to be used quarterly or as needed in heavy traffic areas only. Apply 1 oz. and buff to dry with a white or light hair pad to repair light traffic and restore gloss.
  • It is a liquid that contains abrasives
  • Must shake prior to each use
  • Standard white polishing pad
  • ¼ oz for 10-12 sq ft

  • Extends the time between using the polishing powders and SRD's

Granite Polishing Powder - patented technology with very unique abrasive
